Default Good way to move Crappie Condo already in water?

The other day I put a bamboo condo in a 5 gal bucket in the wrong place. Today I went down and could see the very top. I tried grabbing it but the thin stuff at the top just broke. I was thinking about trying to grab it where the bamboo is thick with a rope and something. Has anybody done this? Appreciate some tips. Thanks

In other words I'm trying to figure out a way to kind of lasso or grab it, lift it up a bit and then just motor it out to a deeper spot nearby.

The top part is the thinnest and broke off pretty quickly. It's in 50 lbs concrete. Today I put a bent piece of a garden stake (like a J)on some steel strand cable but couldn't get it to keep hold of the bamboo. It would catch for a bit but then slip off. Harder than I thought snagging it.I figure once I've got it firmly I'll pull it up at least part of the way, move it it 20 yards and then cut the cable as short as possible.

THat's a tuff one and don't see a way other than going down to it and tying a line on the bucket. I just don't know what else to say. I do know when we last put some in we left a ling on the bucket until we were sure it was were we wanted it and then let one side go to pull the rope back up. Even then it's not all that easy.

Need a good wet suite (maybe some air tanks too) so you can swim down to it.

It's too close to some docks now. Few people on the water now until Spring so not a problem. Maybe Ill find a cheap Umbrella rig and heavy line and try it again.

Not sure how you actually built it or how broad it is? Is it possible to get a strong large hook (5/0 or larger) tied to heavy line or cord. Then tape it to the end of a section of schedule 40 pvc. Idea is to give you something that allows you to reach closer to the base and snag it with the hook. If successful snagging it on a sturdier section of the structure, the tape can break away and you might be able to lift, drag or pull it over so it doesn't interfere with boats in the future. Umbrella rig might work. Good luck.

I see your point. Maybe an old long piece of bamboo would do it. Maybe if I could get it hooked on one of the bamboo near the base I could circle it and kind of lasso it. Its in a 5 gal bucket but I took the handle off so I wouldn't get snagged on it when fishing. The things pretty broad at the top...maybe 8-10 feet at its widest.
