saw a photo taken by a diver of an earth mover tire with the bottom full of cement. the top and both sides were CRAMMED with BIG crappies ! the tire was 22" wide supposedly and was 18" wide on the inside and 1 crappie that was turned broadside looked 18+" long. they apparently were using it as shade. it was a fantastic shot, think it was in Arkansas...
I am going to check the local laws here in Texas and see what the rule is. I also have a game warden close and I will ask him too. I know that the power plant lakes are funny about things being sunk. If I can I can make a couple of reefs of tires. I have a seeming unlimited access to tires of all sizes. Just need wire and concrete.
If it is legal. Would it be better to make them in a triangle shape? If I can stack them I will try to get them to stand up. Maybe after they are sunk I can try to place some cedar on top of them. I think it would be good for all fish.
