for you fellows in the metal trades, welding wire spools work just fine for artificial stumps. they are plastic and will last forever. anchor them by placing a piece of pvc pipe through the hole in the center and driving it into the lake bottom. make'em as tall as you need.

I do it all the time on points and shallow flats. :D

Some here say you don't need grease. But I have had to drop too many with the buckets still attatched to not use anything. I use a cheapo grocery store brand can of spray on cooking oil (Pam). This will keep the buckets from sticking to the concrete. Cost only about $1.50 for 20 to 30 condos. Its a cheap garauntee. CF

Please Do Not put bearing grease in the water on purpose

We put enough crap in the water already by accident, theres no need in putting more if we can help it. If ya gotta put a release agent on your buckets, maybe try the cooking spray. But I'd vote against grease, diesel fuel, or other oil based products.

I like to use the dish pans. They pop right off without anything.

As some of you know I'm a Towboat Pilot. I deal with the USCG (Coast Guard) all the time. I can tell you that as far as the USCG is concerned, if you put ANYTHING in the water and it produces and leaves a "sheen on the water" you can be fined! Trust me, it ain't cheap!!!
