Use the black ones . they should outlast the brush I would think . (jmo )
Has anyone had any experience using large sip ties to secure brush to rocks or weights? What kind of lifespan might one expect in water?

I bought some Heavy duty ones on ebay, have to look think maybe 36" long. Worked great, used cinder blocks to pallets, Xmas trees and brush. Also would think last long time.
We have used the 250 pound HD tie straps for many years...I still have thousands for upcoming projects....I use them mainly on my milk crate condos, and trees to blocks....they are 36 inches long, and none have broken yet...but again, I believe in overkill when it comes to securing cover.

If you have a friend or family in the heating and air conditioning business ask them if they will get you some at cost. The industry uses them by the millions. They are heavy duty and can hold just about anything together. The bigger shops that buy in bulk get the best price. If you know someone who works at an HVAC supply house they can buy them at the wholesalers cost and they might just get you some. They use mostly 36" and 48". Bulk galvanized wire on a spool is pretty good too ,and the combination of both gives you some options.
Not sure but I think under water out of sunlight they will hold a long time . Atleast long enough for brush to be settled into mud and water logged . I hope so anyway cause I have lots of them holding concrete blocks to brush here .

This is a little off subject but, I have access to some pretty good bamboo for sinking and I was curious if y'all have had better luck fastening to blocks horizontally and dropping or standing the bamboo tops up and pouring quickcrete in the cells to secure. Any opinions? Also, I have caught some good fish on bamboo but also a lot of 7-8" fish. What's y'all's experience been?
