I agree scrat, it cost too much regardless. I am going to build something similar, probably not just like that though. I just wonder if the fish hold on the outside of that much. It looks like they might hide inside it better but not sure they would come out and grab a jig.

Yours isn't the only Biologist that thinks that way....I think they've been smoking crack, but that's just my opinion!
I cannot even begin to understand why they feel that way...maybe they should come and see our lake and all the fish hanging off every bit of cover! Even lakes that have plenty of natural cover have dead areas that could use help...and then they would be productive also!

Wow, those look awesome! I'll probably have to stick with spider blocks due to cost though.

Talking to a local dump might work for blocks, PVC, corregated plastic drainage pipe, ect especially if the guy FISHES...

My Guess is that with a 100 foot roll of Corrugated pipe (40 dollars) you could make 2 units 6pcs of 1" pvc (18 dollars) and and 8pcs 1" side outlet elbows 16 dollars
so about 40 bucks each. They are actually called "Georgia cubes"

I see a lot of potential either way they are made. The other version is a series of triangles stacked together inside the pvc frame. Nice flow thru design less likely to be affected by currents, The version pictured just has the pipe threaded thru the frame and tied off in a couple spots with big zip ties. I would probably opt sor some ss screws but that is me. The versions I've seen are 4 foot square 3 foot tall

"Georgia cubes" do you use blocks or how do you anchor these, how much weight? Will they sink and stay in place without weights? I still like them, they look real good and would last a life time and it is nice to know you have a little honey hole when the fishing gets hard. Thanks for the information.

Conservation department here is very good about putting out some brushpiles, but they won't allow individuals to put any out, and they don't want anything man-made(other than the concrete weights that hold down brush). I've posted both of these Kansas links in the hope that our guys will read and maybe come around some.

It also looks like you would have to drill some holes in the pvc to allow air to escape the pipes in the water, since they are all closed off, or you would need extra weight...am I just over thinking this? But, I do want to get it right the first time! lol
