Looks like the most expensive part is the flex drain pipe. I was wondering if there is a cheaper substitute for the flex pipe like small compact-able air duct like this...

Talk to landscaping and construction companies; they use the corrugated PVC drainage tubing and often have old replaced/ damaged or short scrap odds and end sections that they toss out. plumbers will often have old PVC pipe. If you find guys whom like to fish, the 2 of you may be able to work out a `deal`...1 hand washes the other.

I would think the air duct is not durable and the wire will rust....I think these would be hard for 1 guy to put in anyway...but I have often said that BIG Limbs, PVC, Etc, draws BIG fish...that's why I like the Milk Crate stacks...you can add a lot by yourself, they are easy to do, and most of the time they are free/cheap!

Agreed, the dryer vent is not very sturdy; you want your effort to LAST, and last and then LAST some more...

I like the corrugated pipe. It gives allot of surface area for bacteria and algae to colonize. And small nooks and crannies for bait fish and fry to hide in

I was just giving a ruff estimate, but I did find some later at Lowe's that's a $22.00 savings. After you build one send pictures and price it cost to actually build and sink one. Don't
get me wrong I do like them they look good, but I can't afford them.
