Have used Crisco in cooler temperatures. DO NOT use inorganic (automotive) greases...defeats the purpose. Can also split the sides into 6 pieces with the bottom intact and pour it placed inside another bucket...saw it in a video. Seemed to work ok...
The important thing is to get them IN...will always remember the famous line from the movie: "If you`ll "splash" it, the fish will come..." (or something like that...)
I have used small trashcan liners, Easy to remove from bucket and they easily tear off from the finished product.

One thing to look at is that bare concrete degrades after time also...granted it's slower than wood cover, but we put in alot of permanent stuff, we used buckets or plastic bases so they were permanent also, and kept everything standing. With degradable cover it doesn't matter.

IMHO, You have some very nice stuff going in.....one thing we have found, that may help if you're interested.....as Crappie reach Slab size, and are not easy food for other larger predators, they start preferring larger poles, stumps, cover, and use them more as ambush points instead as cover for safety.
If you have different types in your area, you can create a self sustainable environment.
Add Christmas trees for zooplankton, invertebrates, and small fish....dense cover for juvenile fish....and your cover...then some big fish cover. It is very hard to "fish-out" or have wild population swings, when you build an area like this and you fish it appropriately.
