works fine. you can just jab into mud.
iv been building bamboo beds with 8inch blocks cut the limbs off and use the bamboo cut them 4-5ft tall to go in shallow sloughs of 4-9 ft deep and I put 4 in each whole then fill it up with quick crete what do ya think about this for the spring spawn?

I like to build buckets with concrete or bucket lid boo. lay these down weighted on both ends to make lay downs. Easy to use even 30' cane in shallows.

Will the Cain not try to float?? Any need to knock holes in it between the joints??

This a good way to sink especially in shallow water (3 to 12'). It takes 2 weights (concrete blocks) , wire or rope , the bucket lid with holes is optional to make the bundle spread out .

I concreted these inside a 8 inch block so far I have put 12 of them out and I have 8 more made to put out cant wait til the middle of march
They look great and will work swell without a doubt. Do you fasten the lid to the block somehow so when it all decays the lid doesn't move away freely in the lake? Not a huge piece of garbage at that point but an idea all the same.

We filled boxes with concrete and stuck the bamboo in them. We ended up using a little too much concrete but it worked well and they all stayed upright when we dumped them. That bamboo acts like a parachute when its dropped in the water.
Looks like "Crappie Heaven" to me!
Very Nice!....keep checking on them, so we can get a good idea how long 'boo lasts in Warmer water!
