i have not put it in yet.
Yes, hold that GPS on top of it as the bubbles come up otherwise they tend to only be `visible` ironically because of all the fish hanging on or around them...
Sometimes they are most visable by the weighted bucket at the bottom on your sonar. My buckets full of horizontal pipe show up , could be cause the curved pipe I used tend to hold air. Plug pipe to hold air and it might help hold upright as well.

The Pvc ones Ron and I sink are almost exactly like that, cept we use 3" thin wall pvc for the main 5' long and then all 1/2" pvc sch 40 for the horz ones. and put in plastic 2 1/2 gallon bucket with 30# of sakcret....... and put our horz pieces in on the water, so we can haul the main laying down in the boat, that way no one sees what we are doing, get to our spot and put together in about 3 or 4 min. and drop........ we have had some we caught nice crappie off of in two days, but most take about 6 months to really start producing lots of crappie, but they sure are nice not to hang up on..got 2 nice ones ready to put in as soon as ice out here on Truman.......good luck with yours, put in a good spot and they will hold crappie for a long time, but kinda hard to find if you only put one in, we usually put 2 or 3 to a group, makes much easier to find and yes we have a couple of nice gps units..........
