Screwed together and it was easy gettting them out there. We had an extra boat that day we hauled out with. one concrete block for weight. with all the stakes going in different directions its just rolls like a giant ball. Too easy in fact, we had to watch them from rolling off on thier own.

funny story: we get done droping those and head to the other side of the island to drive a few stake beds. we just leave the extra boat anchored where we were. we come back a few minutes later and a guy has pulled up, called the game warden and the CORPS cause he thought someone drowned. What a look he gave us........................

Well i started with 3' and kept getting bigger on each one. The tallest was 8' stakes. The weakest link is probably going to be the screws rusting.

    Hi,

I think the screws will last longer than you think.....We use decking screws....Just remember the date you dropped them.....See how long they last.....We dropped wood stake pallets a couple years back with decking screws....They are still holding up good...

    Hey,

Did yout tie the cynder block to the wood stakes or just slide them over a stake?....Looks like you just slide them over one......I would use wire and just tie it to one of the stakes....I wouldn't want anymore pressure than you have to put on the wood stakes...

Its kind of hard to see but I started by making a "#" shape then using the outer stakes to join 2 of the "#" together. Then 4 stakes cross ways. 16 stakes in all. It took longer to cut than to throw together. When we sink we put a concrete block with another stake through one of the block holes then screw that stake to the rig. They rolled right off the boat.

Great....But, I would still just use wire and tie the block to a stake....But give enough slack that the concrete block would sit on the bottom of the lake etc.....This way there will be less pressure on the stakes....But, that is just me...

How wide and long do you think they are?......

    Hi J.W,

We will probably build a few of these in the future...Since, I have plenty of oak wood.....I think these will hold fish rather well...
