Here is one I made earlier this year.
They ALL look nice; only way they`d look any better would be on sonar, with a school of crappie crammed along side...

hey! guys not trying to be a butinski but are these even legal? Are they secret weapons? or are they good for the fish? I guess you can tell that I m not and expert at crappie fishing but I do love to go and I do like to catch crappie, usually about twice a year. So if you'll just give me the where about of your secret structure I'll just be on my way! Ha ha. just kidding.
Not sure about in North Carolina, but here in Texas they are legal.
I really like keeping the locations secret. i just figure that crappie fisherman don't mind a little work to gain a advantage.
I am lucky enough to fish that many times for Crappie per weekend. But crappie is all I fish for, not a Bass Fisher.
Just find out if they are legal in your area, build a few and take them out when you go to the lake. I figure you go (some kind) of fishing more than twice a year. Then when you go, you'll havd them hemmed up in a smaller place. Doesn't take long to throw them out. Then you can be tight lipped also.

That sounds good but I live bout 90 miles from good crappie fishing lakes. what I normally do is just troll along with my depth finder, and when I pick up a school of fish I stop and toss a few minnows or jigs at em then move on. some times I fish at night with lights. takes about 30 min to attract the bait fish but then the action usually picks up. I only keep a couple of slabs to eat, and throw the rest back. I once had a lady tell me that she keeps everything from the size of a butter bean on up. Now unless you are starving that's just plain wastefull glutney. Im glad to see that there are people like me on this site who care about the future of crappie fishing.
[QUOTE=Creamlevel Kennels;1842692]BTW, I have about a dozen of these ready to sink, just need a little more time on the water.
Do you glue them small tubes to the trunck tube ? Or do you just slide them in?
