Lightbulb PVC structures, how do they attrack fish

I understand the concept of bamboo branches and trees attracting fish, but the open and airy PVC puzzles me. Just a curious beginner at sinking stuff! Tks.

When using pvc, don't cap it off, or it will take more weight to sink it. If it's all pvc, and or plastic, make sure you have a gps to mark the spot, or even you might have trouble finding it again.

Our structure units all consist of flat strips or limbs about 1/8" thick. Maximum surface area with a textured surface allows algae to grow fast, which is the key to anything you sink.
Pieces range from as narrow as 1/4" on our shallow water fry and forage model, the Cradle to 4" wide on the larger Safehouse and Keeper models.
Flat surfaces create shade unlike any round pipe can. Sink some and see the difference.

Just about anything underwater will attract fish if it`s in a useable depth (not too deep or too shallow). Rocky reefs, "rip rap", shipwrecks, car bodies, tire attractors, pier posts, bridge abuttments, wing dams, weed beds, ect, are ALL potential "cover' and ambush points. Far more important than "what?" is "where?"...

Our newest projects are including PVC for longer lasting cover!
I have been using PVC in combination with untreated 2x4's or Oak 2x2 stakes when I can find them cheap!
I like using a 4"x6' center PVC pole with 1.5 inch holes drilled about every foot on both sides to attract minnows etc, then put multiple 2x4's around it. You can also do stake beds with PVC (I still drill smaller holes every foot) and wood to get the best of both worlds. We cut all the PVC with 60 grit to really rough it up!
Good Luck, you can't really go wrong!
