Well you guys just dont understand lol.. I guess it must be a Texas thing. Anyhow the taller of these will have a box at the base and the others are gonna be more like land mines for lack of better term. As stated these are the first of many and the kid and I had a great time doing them. Has anyone ever used hose on the end of the pvc to more simulate a real branch? I also felt the branches looked short but i was limited on my pvc this time so we went with it. If they dont hold fish will add to the location till it does. The main thing is we are having alot of fun and now we are a little less green at what we will need the next time. The pvc really goes quick lol.
    :p :p I would rather be fishing :D :D

I wouldnt sweat the short limbs on the condo. Just go cut you some of the small diameter river cane and stick them into the ends of the pvc to give it more body. Plus you can hang some of those Texas shirts off them. That would be a good use of a Texas shirt anyway.

How do you keep the 1" pipe from sliding out of place? Some drill the holes at an angle and wedge the smaller pipe in place. That may work good.

I drill some 8-18 x 3/4" hex head sheet metal screws into the surface of the 1" pipes at the intersections of where the smaller pipe and the larger pipe meet. The heads will prevent the 1" pipe from sliding thought the hole in the larger pipe.

For the top of the larger pipe I add a 6" to 12" long x 3" OD Fun Noodle inside the top of the pipe. You can insert the cross pipe right through the fun noodle to hold it in place.

I cut off about 2ft of the larger pipe and put it aside and fill it with quickcrete. I screwed about 6 3" long wood screws into the pipe to help hold the concrete when it sets up. If not the concrete may slide out of the inside of the pipe.

The large pipe I use has a female end and a male end. I called it a bell end on the pipe. I use the bell end to slide the short 2ft long concrete filled pipe into the longer pipe. This adds the weight to the bottom of the tree to help sink it and hold it down on the bottom of the lake.

The fun noodle adds just enough buoyancy to hold the tree upright after it's sunk.

I use 10 of the 10ft x 1" ID pipes for each tree that I make. That gives me 5 ft of limb sticking out on each side of the tree. So it covers a 10ft diameter circular area of the lake bottom.

Cost of the 1" pipe really is expensive. Especially when you have to buy the PVC pipe.

No Big Guy not upset about the Cotton bowl. I feel the best team won. That Vince is a heck of a ball player. I'm upset that Tressel didn't start Smith against Texas at Columbus,Oh. I feel like we would have beat them with Smith but hey it was a great game anyway! Just funnin!
