Default Where should I put them

I'm making some PVC structures and need some help on where to put them. How deep do they need to be to hold fish this time of year? I was going to place them in Douglas lake in E.TN. I would like to fish the structure in a few weeks. I will have 10 structures.

    Hey there SFD1542,

Where ever you decide to put them be sure to put them on a drop off edge or some other feature that you can fish along until you can locate them. PVC is very hard to relocate as it doesn't really show up on your graph as well as bamboo or brush.

I've made some that I have sank out on flats and I still can't find them even though I know I'm pretty close. Either have a landmark pretty close to line up on or follow a creek or channel edge until you find them.

They are easy to build and fun to catch fish out of. Try some of the short Bamboo beds made with concrete blocks that Jerry Blake describes how to build. He has posted a very good example with pictures of both types that they construct.

Next time try smaller PVC and use a lot of "tees" and 90/45 degree elbows with short pieces between. We make ours look like two or three skeletons dancing the jitterbug!

Give 'em lots of structure per cubic foot of water.
