A few weeks ago while we were cutting bamboo near some power lines a guy with the power company stopped by to warn us to be careful because bamboo is conductive and if it came in contact with one of the overhead lines while we were handling it that it would electrocute us. I new better than to let it touch the power lines but didn't know it was THAT conductive.
Don't know about bamboo , but last summer got a charge. I was up in a catalpa tree shak'n out worms. A limb hit a powerline! To say the least it opened my eyes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!Originally Posted by Jerry Blake

Someone may have already asked this, but I can't find the answer.. So, how long should I wait to fish a bamboo condo. I dropped one today.
Hi,
I would try it as soon as you go back....I remember Jerry or Darryl saying that caught fish on condos that dropped within a week or so..I think?..I think if you dropped the bamboo in a good location...Crappie probably will be on it...Just depends on what depths the crappie are relating to..Your best bet is to drop the condos in different depths...So, you will be able to fish different depths all year around..

Thanks

This is a yes and no on the condutivity. When dead and dry the chance are much slimmer but when green, is contains moisture and moisture is very conductive.

fished the bamboo condo for a few hours this afternoon. NOTHING.
Hi Brad,
Don't give up on the bamboo condos....If it is spot where the crappie usually are in or relate to?....They will be on it..

Hi Brad,
Drop as many as you can in different depths...Plus on points, drop offs and on creek channels etc..
