    Default Hey I Just Gota

i live in the upper part of south carolina and fish lake keowee--lake hartwell--lake richard b.russell and clark hill. All these lakes are deep and for the most part clear, with the exception of clark hill, which is a little dingy most of the time.Lake russell is full of standing timber--never catch any fish out of the timber either,i'm either too dumb, don't know how,or they ain't there.
All those attractors that ya'll are showing pictures of look to me like they are only about 5 ft tall max, maybe 6 ft.How deep is the water you put them in?how deep are the fish in the summer--winter--early spring--early fall?
main lake or coves?Water temps in winter get down to 38 to 45 degrees and can get to around 89 degrees in summer.
Please give me some advice and or instructions.
    thanks

Most of the structure's I've placed are 5-7 feet tall and are placed in 9 to 12 foot over water. I'm after Pre-spawn, spawn, and Post spawn fish. My lake has deep holes like 35 feet deep for winter and summer fish but I don't place cover that deep. I place mine in a triangle pattern, near a drop from like 20 feet up to 12 feet and place them (3 at a time) and place one of the 3 in 9 feet of water. I will place some in 5 feet of water but too easy to be found.

I have heard of some people using existing timber to "hang" cover down. Say your in 25 feet of water, they will sink some structure about 15 feet deep, then anchor it to the stump, letting it "hang" 15 feet deep. Alot of work and anyone can then fish it or see the stup it's anchored too.

    Default depth of structure

Hay Friend, I Live In The Up State Also, And Live About Half A Mile From Hartwell. But Always Fish Russell Or Clarks Hill Or Sucession. I Will Put Out Pvc Structure In 12 Or 15 Feet Of Water.hope It Helps . The Right Time Of The Year There Are Plenty Of Crappie In Those Standing Timber. Try Mills Creek In The Spring.good Luck.
