    Default Question on cover

Lake Conway in AR has thousands of submerged stumps and standing trees in it. There is a little grass around the edges of the lake but mostly in shallow water. There are trees n the creek channels, trees everywhere. Would it do any good to sink boo in it to fish around? I do not see much brush or cover other than cypress tree knees. The whole lake is shallow, probably average depth of like 4 or 5 feet deep. I was thinking that boo or even cedar trees would b beneficial for young crappie to hid in. Would I b wasting my time? Thx in advance for any help.

I would have to say yes to something bushy. I found a tree under water like this, with a lot of leaves on it this year, on a lake LOADED with submerged trees....slayed the speckles. I do think the area has alot to do with it . Just put on a point that usually holds fish and it should help tremendously.

Fresh cover put in the right spots will produce. It produces at Reelfoot and that sounds alot like Reelfoot. We have nearly 16,000 acres average depth 5.5 ft. A submerged forrest and loaded with cypress. If cypress knobs are a good spawnig area try some branches in bunches around known spawining areas and watch them change thier habits...

My Father made a bundle of creek cane one time and sunk it into a submerged fork of a Bois de Arc tree in Bois de Arc Lake it produced an enormous amount of crappie and bream and at least one 13 pound Channel cat that straightend out a lot of gold Aberdene hooks before he was caught.

I've seen conway when drained. Don't know the reason they do that every few years.
Stake beds and boo driven into the bottom along with a few ceders anchored with blocks would help a bunch.

I know there are some boo structures out in Conway, I just wont tell you exactly, but there are some out there, and they DO hold fish in Conway.
