    Default 7 up batter

Anybody ever use 7 up batter for your fish?
I used to use it years ago in Mississippi but forgot the recipe

I've had it before as a kid and liked it. This is not my recipe though, I found it on cooks.com, people share a lot of good recipes on there.

Roll filets in dry pancake mix and let stand 20 minutes.

BATTER: Start with one cup pancake mix. Add 1 egg. Mix in slowly about 8 ounces of 7-UP or until batter is thin. Preheat deep fryer to 365-400 degrees. Dip filets in batter and fry 3 or 4 minutes.

Open can, let sit a couple hours. Mix Beer into pancake mix, with a couple eggs you have your batter. Dip fillets in flour them in your batter and fry. Good mix for making finger steaks. Yes, my mom used seven up when I was a kid.

    Never tried that
Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.

7-up or beer. The best book on the market that's still cheap is
The Strictly Fish Cookbook, by Charlie Winkleman, yes Babe Winklemans first wife. You can get it on his website.
