Default Fried crappie and what sides?

We always have steak fries, hushpuppies and cole slaw with our fried crappie. I'm just lookin for a lil change. What do you like with your fried fish?

Taters, & puppies ... good choices. Cole slaw, I'm not too crazy about.

    Possible subs -
Mashed Cheesy Potatos, in place of Steak Fries ?
Pan Fried Cornbread, in place of Hushpuppies ?
Kale Greens,or Fried Green Tomatos, in place of Cole Slaw ?

Hey ... they've all worked for me :p

The only kind of cole slaw I like is freshly made. My son will sit and eat a whole head of cabbage of it. I've got a smoker for barbecuing pork and freshly made cole slaw on a nice big barbecue sandwich is the best.

mmmm Fried green tomatos. That reminds me it's time for me to start getting the garden ready. Now if I could just ever get a day off work to start on it. Shouldn't even have to use the tiller since it's rained for about two weeks straight now

Coleslaw is pretty standard for us, but here are a few other things we serve up:

    potato salad
macaroni salad (the mayo or miracle whip kind)
pasta salad (the italian dressing kind)
    3-bean salad
    corn bread
    grilled ears of corn
    onion rings
    salt potatoes

Wrap a couple of pickled green beans inside of a fried fillet and munch away. It's heaven on earth.

since the oil is hot: fried okra, fried zuccini fries cut shoestring(our favorite), fried yellow squash chips along with a cold side like slaw or potato salad.
