Looks like a winner to me!
Saw this one on YouTube. It exceeded my expectations.
$1 loaf of French Bread
Garlic Herb butter
Pizza sauce
Pepperoni
And Italian blend cheese
I split the loaf, buttered and then broiled it until crispy. Added Pizza sauce, cheese and Pepperoni. That was some good eating. The next time. I will broil upside-down until the Bread gets crusty, butter, put it face down on the griddle to crisp up the inside, then add toppings and bake.
Looks like a winner to me!

Some 20 or more years ago ,this was my specialty , a split loaf of French bread and some marinara and garlic and cheese and whatever else got in my way and for SURE KABOOM !

we still do variations of it all the time , last night was 2 elongated diagonal slices with pepper jack on em in the toaster oven for a snack during a movie .....

Did another last night. Toasted the bread prior to anything else. Ramped up the crunch factor a bunch. Definitely made it better
