If I was still Overseas I would tell the Galley Cook it was "Mystery Meat". From my screen here it almost looks like you battered a skinned bird heads, a head with a long beak, then deep fried it so I'm not getting any "Normal" thoughts of what it might be.obviously fried something ....

it was actually some pheasant breast I gave to a buddy
asked me how to cook it and I said FIRST get you toothpick and pull out all the feathers in the shot holes and any possible birdshot too ...
then maybe a light brine over night .....and possibly fry it ?
told me it was really good ....
