This slaw recipe was adapted from a Broccoli Salad recipe to fit the purpose. I buy the Angel Hair Slaw at Walmart, some Walmarts carry the Vinegar & Raw Sugar too but if you do not see the Vinegar brand here you want 4% Acidly Seasoned Rice Vinegar. The seasoned stuff has salt & sugar already in it. Since this is for the Brisket Burgers tomorrow I make it way ahead of time so the sugar melts and the slaw pickles completely.
1 Cup Mayonnaise
1/4 Cup Raw Sugar
2 Tablespoons Seasoned Rice Vinegar
A shake of Sea Salt
Black Pepper to taste.
I put all the dressing ingredients except the salt & pepper in a bowl and mix it up. Now the sugar will not melt right away so this is a make the day before needed recipe. After the dressing is made I just fold the cabbage over and over till coated. Then I press flat as I can, cover tight with cling wrap, and refrigerate overnight. Salt and Pepper last. I only add pepper if going on a burger or BBQ sandwich.

Mayonnaise based coleslaw for sure on or with about food, anything cabbage we eat and considered a staple in our house with so many ways to cook it. About time to make a batch of stuffed cabbage rolls, "with sauerkraut" and mashed taters with butter pooled in the middle. Think my wifey sends out smoke signals or something cause all my family decides to visit that day.
I sure enjoy the cooking section of this forum, first forum I visit when I open c.c. and much appreciated.
