Default Fantastic Ham for a Great Price

Not exactly cooking in the front of this post. Sam's Club sells these real rack Smoked Hams here for $2.96 per pound. I buy these usually at Christmas when available but they had some last week so thought I would share. Sliced ham of much lesser quality is usually $10/lb or higher. I run them on the slicer after cutting in half because my slicer is a old used one I bought out of a Donut Shop that made hot sandwiches. They got tired of the small bed and bought a larger one. A couple of Long Wheel Base $10's and it became mine, its almost 30 years old to me here so I would say close to 45-50 years old totally. Anyway I slice them for Breakfast Steaks and Sandwiches, here only thick cuts for Breakfast. After I vacuum pack them and freeze at Zero degrees. At zero moisture migration slows way down, takes a very long time to freezer burn at zero. Well they never get the chance here. So I took a few pictures to show how I put the Ham Steaks up for 2 person Breakfasts. Seems we have a lot of members old enough to be Empty Nester's.

Of course we had to cook some this morning. I sliced some fresh Figs up to top some toasted, buttered, Sourdough English Muffins then topped with Raw Sugar and Cinnamon. My Wife fired up some of this wonderful, smokey, Ham.

I hope your local Sam's Club has these hams. They are a great source for smoked ham and super easy on the budget.
