    Default Pecan Pie Chowhounds?

I had to post a picture, we have not even cut it yet. My mouth is watering. This Jewel is a Bourbon Pecan Pie, hand rolled, homemade crust. My wife is a real Baker at heart all I do is bake breads.

We have wildfires burning nearby and I live in a log home so I first made a 1/2 cup of popcorn, 1/2 a gallon after popping. Ate the popcorn then a huge slice pf Pecan Pie. One tall glass of cold milk later I had enough in me to keep me up all night so I could keep up with which direction the fire was moving. Smoke everywhere around the house thick as fog when we laid down made the wife concerned. Someone had to stay up. The winds shifted overnight so no smoke this morning.

The wind has switched and what is burning is going towards saltwater marsh. Marshes always benefit from a burn. As kids we used to watch the marsh fires during the night at our camp in Myrtle Grove, La. Thanks for praying for us, we are survivors, I evacuate so many people's stuff when Hurricanes threaten if we would need evacuating so much help would show up the State Police would be directing traffic. I help people around here year around, seems we are always taken care of by our Maker.

our highways in Texas have large blackened areas every few miles for miles and miles , some of them get away and burn larger areas , those that smoke and flip the butts out are the problem , one state west of us it is actually a felony to pitch a lit butt.
one of my used to be buds back when , had one of those wives that had a mouth on her ...got herself pulled over for speeding and they have money like you know what .....she got out of the her fancy car and started jaw jacking the trooper with her cig. in hand and pitched it down on the road side during the witless banter .....
went from bad to worse right quickly and she almost lost her real estate license and got taken for a ride to see the detention center too .....
wish we had a law like that and some of these self centered idiots would get some time behind bars for the thoughtless who cares attitudes , mind you this , I used to smoke cigs , about 30 or so years worth of them , so it aint like I am just being ugly to smokers , it's just the ones that have zero respect for the rest of the community ....
no that my rant is over ,,,,,WOW what a pie ! AWARD winning quality for sure ....
