    Default The Quest


    Been on a quest for the perfect chilli dog.
    Been scouring the net for a great chilli recipe. Growing up the Dixie Dog from Conel Dixie was the best. Then a the Dew Drop Inn had an awesome dog with a toasted bun. Landed on an Oil rig to do some electrical work and the cook as he called himself went to apologizing about cooking chilli dogs for lunch. Chef as I called him made one fine chilli dog.     I am searching for one. I have so far tried a copy cat of Varsity's chilli. It was a little too tomato-y for my taste. Lacked the richness. On my second attempt I winged it. It was better but still lacked the rich savoriness. I will eventually find it

    My wife says how you eat a chili dog is throw away the dog then have chili.

    Hard to beat a good chilli dog. I like a good pot of chilli as well. That is more of a winter time meal for me.
