I was flipping through the tv channels the other day and caught Paula Dean grilling some of these. I could almost smell it through the tv. Gotta try it, really soon.

Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.

And we act like this Nightstalking thing is new.

For some excitment, read the next verse. A special guest arrived, they filled their coolers and had a fish fry on the beach...in the morning. My kind of people.- Bowfin

Now talking about bbq cabbage, try using the purple stuff and try using different meats as in some squrrill, and gator. Its all good on the earlier post but man there are so many ways to cook cabbage, but man every way is a good way.

Use indirect grilling for this one so it doesn't burn on the bottom.
A smoking pouch with some wood chips would still give it a bbq flavor probably or add some liquid smoke to the sauce.
    Enjoy!

Did mine on a gas grill - the left-right burner type. Put the cabbage on the left, lit the right hand burner. Ran it at it's lowest flame for about 3 hours - SLOW cooked it. I don't have a thermometer on my grill, or I'd give you a temp. Main thing is slow, steady heat so it cooks all the way through. I had to cover it with foil for a while, because the outside was starting to get a little too well done.

I thought I had shared this before but I couldn't find it when searching so here it is again. The infamous Bar-B-Que Cabbage!

    1 Medium Size Cabbage
1 Large Onion chopped (I prefer Vadalia)
6 pieces of good smoked bacon (more if you just don't care!)
Bar-b-que sauce (better if it's smoke flavored)
3 chunks of butter (no sissy margarine either)
    Tin Foil

Cook bacon and break into small pieces. Sautee onion in bacon grease (ohhh yeah). Mix bacon and onions and set aside.

Make round support ring out of tin foil. Put the cabbage on the ring, stem facing up. Take a sharp knife and cut a cone shaped cavity into the core and throw away cone. Make the cone just big enough to cut out the core and leave space for filling. Brush outside of cabbage with bacon grease. (Ohhh yeah) Salt and pepper the inside and outside. Heavy on the pepper. Pour the bacon-onion mixture into the cone. Cover with plenty of BBQ sauce. Place chunks of butter on top of BBQ sauce. ohhh yeah

Place on the grill with foil ring. Cook until squeezably soft or knife pokable. About 60 minutes. If it starts to burn on the outside, just cover it up with a piece of tinfoil. If you are cooking a large cabbage, put in directly over the fire for a while. You may have to add coals to keep things nice and hot.

Serves about 4 people. Cut into wedges.

    ENJOY! This cabbage rocks!
Make sure to wash down with plenty of adult beverages!

    Just put on the grill.

That sure does sound good. Think I'm gonna print the recipe and give her a try. Thanks for sharing.

Got a camping trip coming up, sounds like something good to go on an open fire. Probably have everyone in the whole campground drooling. LOL
