The fish baking mix comes ready to go , you dip them in the sauce they supply in the package and roll them in the crushed peanut coating and bake then slightly different than the instructions . i did about 15 minutes at 375 instead of 18 to 22 minutes at 400 . i find crappie fillets bake much faster than most other fish , so i adjust baking times accordingly .
This particular version of crappie is VERY filling and my plate was WAY to large.
it ends up VERY crunchy and VERY peanut flavored , so if you are not a fan of one of those items maybe dont try it
we only do it once in a while at our house for a change of pace .
it is pretty good for a change of pace ....i went to the ole recycle bin yesterday and found the box ....
says its for chicken ........but then again most every encrusted baked chicken recipe works with crappie
