    Thumbs up frying crappie

    WE like to dip them in egg and milk then coat with townhouse cracker crumbs and fry in peanut or olive oil. Yum!! suzieq

    Bud, that looks awesome!! I'll have to try that one...I don't cook any foods with salt and that one is worth a try.

    I think the Panko 'crumbs' are already seasoned, and come in different 'flavors'. The cracker crumbs depend on style of 'cracker' used.

    Personally, I don't "season" my fried Crappie with anything ... except salt/pepper, and that's only when it's on the plate :p
    I use plain yellow cornmeal, more or less as a 'crust'. I want to taste the fish, not cover their taste with another. Not real hip on using 'batter' type coatings, either .... though I have eaten fish with Autrey's, and with Weisenberger (both are batter mixes). I've also used Southern Star Fish Fry Seasoning ... when I wanted a little different "flavor".
