    Thanks for the welcome, I have a seal a meal that I use for all my game animals. I'll have to give it a try. Freezing them in water is an old habit from using gallon milk jugs cut open some 35 years ago..

    3 or 4 days, and you might as well fry some before you freeze them all!! I bet that stuff the stores display and sell is older. We also keep them iced down for up to 3 days before we clean them. That way on a 3 day trip, we only clean fish once.

    I've kept fish iced down in a cooler over night before cleaning them. After i clean them i rinse the fillets off good and put them in the smaller glad containers with the screw on lid. I fill the container half way with fish then another quarter with water. Screw the lid on and freeze. Last a year. I usually only east fresh fish camping.

    I never clean fish same day I catch them. Usually 2-3 days later. Just be sure to keep them out of the water and in ice or the meat will be soft.

    Easier to fillet when they are cold and stiff.

    if I catch a mess on Saturday,i will ice them down real good and clean the next morning before church.then I will rinse them good and put the bowl in the refridgerater add alittle salt(depending on the amount of fish,how much salt)let set in the fridge for 2 days,rinse once again then freeze.

    usually clean fish same day, then put in bowl of salt water in frig, keep them several days that way, don't notice any difference and then freeze in water. can;t tell any difference in fish for year or two.
