Nice looking pie there. Delicate design work with the pecan halves on top. Too time consuming for me. I just don't have the patience. Looks like you did a great job!

My grandma always made pecan pies at holiday time. She called them Karo nut pies, but they were pecan pies. She always put a dash of cinnamon in the sugar & egg mixture. She's gone now, but I have her recipe and make the pecan pies now around the holidays. Every year after a morning on the deer stand, we'll go pick up fresh pecans under some trees at a friend's farm. My dad is retired and he cracks and picks out the pecans for our family. My 15 year old son could eat a whole pie and down a gallon of red cap milk in one sitting, literally. Grandma would be thrilled to know that my kids love her pies just as much as I always did.

I have a friend from Vermont who always sends a gallon of real maple syrup my way and I send a gallon of fresh picked out pecans to the green hills up north. It's been a tradition around Thanksgiving for a few years now.

Great at looking job on your pie! GTT
