The cajun fryer is the best cooker that I have ever used. I own a 6 gal and I have used the 4 gal at the same time to cook for big crowds. The 4 gal uses the same burner as the 6 gal with smaller capacity baskets. The recovery time for the grease to come back to the original temperature is better with the smaller cooker . With the temperature staying higher the smaller cooker it seem to out cook the bigger unit but with the larger capacity baskets its a wash. If I ever had to buy again I would probably purchase the 4 gal because of the lower oil requirements. Also the 6 gal cooker because of the increased gas flow requirements will freeze up at the tank when cooking for long periods (big crowds) in cold weather while the smaller cooker will keep on cooking.

Guess what? I got the cajun electric turkey fryer which holds a lot of fish. Leave the grease in, in between frying. Leave it set up on a small table all the time on my screen porch--love it!

If I am cooking a small batch I hve a DeLonghi fryer that works great. You close lid and then drop the fish in the hot oil thus having no splatter. I have been using it for about ten years and it is still going strong. A little pricey but well worth it. When cooking for a large crowd I use a turkey fryer with a porcelain coating that works great. The caoting makes it very easy to clean.

Just a simple fry pan is all I've ever used. Don't think I'll switch to an actual fryer because a fry pan works just as good for me.

Cast iron skillet on gas stove elect stove or charcoal grill. If the whole family over I use the large skillet pretty well covers whole grill. They come in all sizes stay at pan with cold beer turn when needed and remove when ready. Don,t like fryers takes all the fun out of cooking.

I strain the peanut oil after about every third cookin and reuse it for 6 months. These are also great cookers for deep frying deer steaks.
Yes! These are the best cookers. They are hogs on oil, but, with that volume of oil, your temp does not move. You do not have to wait on oil to warm back up after putting a fresh batch in. We can feed 80 people an hour with the 8 gallon model, and reuse the oil over and over!
