Frydaddy help???

I have small fry daddy that has never cooked the way I felt it should. I bought a thermometer to check the temp, after waiting several minutes it never goes over 325°. Has anyone ever checked the temp?? If that's not normal I'm going buy a new one.

Everything I Googled up says the "Fry Daddy" should reach around 375deg. A "Fry Daddy" does not have a temp control, so you may want to look at a "Cool Daddy" Even so, it would appear that most of these small fryers have a max temp of 375deg.

Ok thanks, I will go get a new one next chance I get. I have a larger fryer with temp control, but the small one is nice to cook a few fillets since my wife doesn't eat fish.

Mine for several years cooked at 370. Lately i noticed it is down to 330 range. Must be wearing out

I had a Fry Daddy & a Grand Pappy and neither one would get the oil hot enough to do a good job on the fish. I have a propane fired fish fryer now.

I have 3 grand pappy's. They all work great. You can hardly find them anymore, but you can buy them online through walmart. I like them because they use a 48 ounce bottle of oil. Good luck.

I bought a Cool Daddy a little under two years ago. It never went higher than 325, even at its max setting. It worked for frying stuff but they had a way of not turning out too well, couldn't make crispy fries with it at all, just oily potato sticks. I've given up on it, I plan to just buy a dutch oven and use that.

I have an old fry daddy 30 yrs and fry baby both 15 yrs both still work very well when using fry baby I some times cut filet into fingers with salt, pepper, and corn meal. Everyone luvs this and seems like the fish feed more.

I fry all my fish in a cast iron ceramic lined dutch oven. It gets hot quickly, stays hot and doesn't drop temp much if you put too much in it ( I never do that!). A small one with lid may set you back 30 bucks and it will work on stovetop, grill side burner, campfire or anyplace you can apply heat!
