Yes it is on top of fillets only so you have crunchy below along with marinara sauce cheese on top. Thanks for bringing that up SlabLapper as that really makes or breaks it. Should have put that in details, thanks again

Here's what I like. My wife is "allowing" us to eat crappie a lot more often now with this recipe since it's not deep fried. Because this recipe has a nice crunch I like it ALMOST as much as fried. I may have to keep more to eat now... how great is that?

Made this the other night with walleye fillets. Not crappie but... OH MY GARSH! Love that crunch and the parmesan lingering taste.

Great recipe. We just happened to have all of the ingredients in the cabinets. It was a nice change from fried crappie. I could see us eating crappie this way quite a bit now. Thanks for posting it.

I liked the sound of this. In a hurry and crappie filets buried too deep in the freezer. Found a pair of snapper filets from the fall trip. I modified it a little by eliminating the thyme and instead using Cajun seasoning and granulated garlic instead. My local grocery store had no fresh parmesan but did have a grated Italian cheese that included parmesan. I sprayed my pyrex dish with olive oil and substituted extra virgin olive oil for the butter. I also sliced a few Kalamata olives and spread over the top. This will definitely become one of my regulars. THANKS VERY MUCH FOR SHARING THIS RECIPE.
