    Default Smoked Fish Patties

Now i haven't tried this yet so i cant say if this was good but from reading recipes from my smoker cook book this something I'm going to try soon

    Smoked Fish Patties
-2 cups flaked fish, (left over or poached)
    -2 eggs beaten
-1 cup bread crumbs or crackers
    -1 Tbsp. finely minced onion
dash of pepper and salt to taste

Place fish in a greased dish that will fit into you smoker, spread evenly and loosely
Smoke for about one hour in a cold smoker with Hickory or Alder chips
Allow fish to cool, then mix all ingredients and form into patties and fry in hot butter or bacon grease.
Serve as a fish sandwich or eat as is with you favorite toppings

I have tried smoked fish before and I just didnt care for it. I have tried it several different ways but I just cant develop a taste for it. I still like it best the old fashioned way, fried! lol!! :D

Probably best with an oily fish like salmon or bluefish. The whiter fish tend to dry out too much in the smoker. Might actually work for catfish though. Good luck and let us know if it worked out with the crappie.
