You laid in the hospital for 3 days because of re-using fish breading? Please provide some info on this such as what type of breading, how old was it, how many times had it been re-used, how long was it out of the freezer, etc. I have never heard of this happening but that is not to say it has not happened.

With that said, I have re-used fish breading over and over and over again. I take extreme care to make sure it does not sit out any length of time. I pull it out of the freezer, bread the fish and immediately put it back in the freezer. I cook the fish immediately as well. I have three different breading bags in the freezer right now and I know they have been in "in use" for at least 6 months.

Of course I eat my beef still bleeding and my pork at 140 degrees, my eggs runny and my old fashioned ice cream with raw eggs in it.

I would say if it concerns you dont do it but otherwise go ahead and re-use it. As long as you do not let it set out of the freezer it will be fine.

wheels70, I'm with ya. Everything has been stuff that I have handled myself so I know how fresh or not and only have myself to blame if I get sick. Big H trucking, I hate to hear ya got sick. I can't say that for me personally I've gotten sick on reused meal, but that being said I don't doubt it can happen. Heck, I been more sick from all ya can eat Chinese buffets. What I always do is use my meal then sift it and get it back in the freezer. I guess it boils down to this, do you chance a few bucks of fish meal in the chance for a case of the screamin' Idians! lol. I honestly feel like lots of times people over look a cuttin' board, counter top, or plate that has been contamitanted. The other thing is, when that meal and fish hit that 350-375 grease whatever is around should be dead and if it ain't WHEW look out for me if not.

I was thinking the SAME exact thing today when I tossed out my breading mix. "I didn't realize I put that much in the bag and I hate to waist it but, dang there is still some egg coating in there." Flung it in the trash. I HAVE saved it before when I was camping but, usually I try to get my mix right but, like today it's not always the case.
