i would think so. how long have they been in there. wev left em frozen in buckets for a couple days after ice fishing. just pull em out n thaw em n a bucket of water. should be fine. just smell em n if they dont make u wana puke then id say all good
I was about to dress some crappie and bluegill when I got an emergency call to work.
I'm a night watch man. I had no ice and no one to give them to so I sacked them up and put them in
the deep freeze. Will they be good for more than cat food now?

If you didn't fill the bags with water, I would eat them pretty quick or they will freezer burn. I have eaten fish that had been frozen in water for 2 to 3 years and they were just fine.
oops, didn't see that you hadn't cleaned them. I have kept fish iced down for a couple of days before cleaning with no problem. If you have to thaw them some to clean, I would go ahead and eat them. Never liked refreezing food.
If you left the guts in them I don't think I would eat them.
I've had the same thing happen to me a couple of times. Once it turned out ok and the other time they had a real thick slime on em after thawing just tossed those. As was stated before i wouldn't refreeze them and i also would leave them in the freezer long either. I think that is what cause the thick slime those were in there for about a week.
There is zero difference in freezing fish with or without the guts... zero. Like was mentioned, thaw, clean, then eat right away. This is a limited time offer... say a day or two.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.
I find that if u dont clean the fish before freezing, they get REALLY slimy. But, the meat is still fine. As far as freezer burn - I dont even taste any difference in it if you fry it....I dont taste in difference in fish at all if you fry them. LOL
