I’ll take two plates of that!
So I had 4 steaks in the freezer that were almost a year old. We are eating out the freezer to make room. All of us know the freezer can be the Lost & Found 1 Year later. Anyway I just put the steaks on the grill about 800 degrees and cooked them about 1/2 way through putting a great bark and crust on the outside before bring in. Using my trusty Duromatic I dumped in a can of Rotels, a cup of beef broth, dark chili powder, onion granulated, minced garlic, cumin, black pepper, and a bit of salt. After loading the cooker I tossed in the steaks and ran them for 1 hour on the second red ring totally tenderizing the meat. We made corn tortilla tacos with the steak and put the rest in the fridge.
This mornings breakfast was Grits, the Steak meat, Cheese, and two over easy eggs. What fuel for a freezing winter day.
Talk about hit the spot! I'm straightening up the shops today and they are in the mid forties to fifty degrees inside. Here is a shot of my plate after about 5 minutes.
