I spent one Christmas in the mountains. I woke to find the most beautiful soap box car under the tree. They immediately took me and car to what they called the “starting” line. I said “it looks awful steep”. Just then I got a ”terrorific” push. All I heard was “see you at the bottom”. Wait, I said. Where’s the brake? All of a sudden I passed a sign saying “you are now leaving Pikes Peak”. I left alright, boy did I leave.
