I picked up dozen really nice fishing lures, one Christmas, for my father. I didn’t want to be to guess what it was so I took all of them out of their packaging and placed them in a knitted stocking cap. I heard a whole new vocabulary while he was pulling the hooks out of his hand and that cap. The next year he was extremely careful when opening the gift from me.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.

I will always remember the Christmas pizza after the Christmas goose was confirmed to be one foul bird when it was stinking up the oven.

Every year when I was a kid we did the very same thing during Christmas. We would go to my grand parents on my Dad's side and spend the night Christmas Eve. This was an order given by my GrandMother. My Dad had three sisters. Each sister and our family would be there without fail. My aunts would bring there kids which each one had three or four kids. we would all pile up in the little house owned by my Grand Parents in the little Texas town of Byers. Later after all the cousins were married, including myself and my brother, we would all show up like we did our whole lives. The house was packed. Only the Grand Parents got to sleep in the beds. the rest of us would sleep anywhere there was room on the floor. Some cousins would fight over the couch.

Every Christmas Eve we would have a huge supper. Then, my aunt could play the piano better than Liborotchi. Another Aunt played the accordion. We would gather around the piano and sing Christmas songs. Then around mid-night or so we would exchange gifts. There was a lot of gag gifts given just to break the ice a little. Santa Claus would show up before we went to sleep for the little kids. Later, I found out he was the local town drunk that played Santa Claus for a beer of some sort of "Spirits".
On Christmas day we would part ways and go to the other side of the family, Momma's side, then go home.
My Grand Parents, Parents, and Aunts have all gone to Heaven. It left us cousins who all moved here and there. We don't have GrandMa to insist that we all meet on Christmas any more. We all celebrate with our own family now but we still can remember Christmas at GrandMa's house. How packed it was and the silly traditions we had. and of course, we all miss those silly traditions and just have the memories now of Christmas Eve at GrandMa's House.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
