BnM rods are the best.
While bank fishing a canal with a friend and his 11yr. old son, we started catching numerous catfish. Neither of them had ever fished or at least caught fish. I demonstrated how to safely remove catfish from the hook. But his son, in all of his excitement, kept handling them like they were as harmless as a stuffed animal. It still amazes me how he never got finned. Sadly just two short years later Duane was electrocuted to death, just after his 13th birthday. He is still deeply missed, but I fondly reminisce that day by the canal.

This day I only caught the one fish. But a couple days prior at academy sports, my 3 year old picked out a pack of curly tail grubs, that in her mind, I couldnt live without. The lone fish was caught on her grub. Apparently she knew better than i did lol

Took the Scouts to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, and of course, the kid that could care less about fishing caught the biggest fish. A 3 1/2 foot long Northern Pike. He was in my canoe that day, so, it is a lasting memory. I know it's not a Crappie, but we did catch and eat a lot of Crappie that week.

You mean like the time I asked my friend to deploy the anchor and the look on his face when he realized he hadn’t secured it to the boat first.
