Default Cane Pole's Boat of the Month Contest - MAY is sponsored by Strike King

Boat of the Month contest. AND Boat of the Year.

Post pictures of your boat with as many details as you care to include. And Cane Pole (and company) will select a winner. We will do this every month (unless the gewber forgets), and then at the end of the year we will select a "Boat Of The Year".

So, you can submit and resubmit your boat each month you don't win, and add additional details that might help it win the next month over the course of the year. The more details, and pics, and cool things you document, the better the chances are to get selected. The monthly winners will receive a prize pack, as will the "Boat of the Year".

*This includes kayaks and canoes. Whatever you float in...

This months prize is sponsored by Strike King....here are the prize pack details.....thank you Strike King for your support.

    SIX packs of Sausage Heads

SIX 25 packs of Mr. Crappie Jig Heads.

My boat is a new to me 1987 Charger 162v Bass Boat. It has a 90hp Mariner a Minn-Kota edge 45 bow mount tiller style trolling motor and a Garmin 73sv finder. I think I am about to have the kinks worked out of her and set up the way I like.

My new boat is a 1650 AlumaCraft. I have had this boat several months now and it has been great so far. We have done a lot of spider rigging for crappie with it and it has currently been switched over for mainly catfishing. I have it set up with two shallow water anchors and a minnkota powerdrive with co-pilot. It's powered by the 2012 30hp Honda I had and that's about it. I tried to keep it pretty simple on this boat and maintain a nice open platform. The kids are loving it and are asking me all the time now when are we going fishing again!!

My boat is a 1985 Stratos 335-V. This boat was bought new by my dad a month after I was born. Spent many a summer fishing and skiing out of this boat. The sentimental value this boat has is immeasurable. Since my dads passing in 2014 the boat has set in moms garage collecting dust until I pulled it out 2 months ago. I put in 2 new batteries, patched up a few spots in the fiberglass, installed an onboard charger, and just put in some new throttle cables yesterday. I think I have gotten everything done I wanted to prior to taking it out fishing this year. Would eventually like to get the fiberglass looked over, new carpet, and a better trolling motor but those things can wait. Hoping to take mom, my nephew, and my son out tomorrow for a little bream action. My goal is to one day take my grandkids out to catch their first fish in it.

Pictures--1st is from the day I brought it home from moms after a good cleaning and coat of wax.
--2nd one is from 1999. Dad had made me a homemade trolling rig that mounted to the back of the boat. First time out I loaded the boat with crappie while he bass fished off the front. Wasn't long and he made a rig for the front.
--3rd and 5th are 2 weeks ago when my son and I took it out to check everything out.
--4th is from a few years back when I took my son out for the first time in his Papa's boat.
--6th is the last time dad and I fished in the boat together. We found the bass on his favorite sand point and were catching them almost every cast.

My first boat is a 1990 sea nymph tournament 150tx
It has a 2002 Johnson 25 hp on the back. A 2011 motorguide trolling motor in the front. I've put a garmin 151 Dv on the front and a garmin striker cv4 on the back. Me and dad redid all the wiring on it. Getting ready to start major improvements on the trailer next. So far I have caught a lot of fish with my friends, girlfriend, Mom and dad, and I've already caught my new pb crappie! Looking forward to a great summer and many great years of fishing to come!

The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

This is my 1989 Ranger 680C Fisherman. I bought the boat from the son of the original owner
I rebuilt the Yamaha 90 because of a burnt piston. All the carpet on the lids and deck was replaced. The clear coat was peeling so it was scrapped off and recoated. Took the the boat out on the lake today for the first time. Very pleased with the results.Name: 1230161300.jpg

    My current pride & joy.

    1999 ProCraft 16' w/90hp Merc

Bit of a history with this boat !!

The original owner didn't use the boat much, committed suicide, and the outfit was sold to a lifelong friend of mine. He used it sparingly, himself, so there was not many hours on the motor or use time on the boat. I fished out of it once with him down in Tenn, when he went on a Crappie fishing trip with me & some other fishing buddies. When he found out I was looking for a rig, he offered to sell me this one. And with it came all the paperwork, from the original sale to the added goodies my friend put on it, to the sale to me. Only things I've added, so far, are a bigger battery for the trolling motor, two Hi-tek 4pole rod holders, a Lowrance Elite 5DSI unit (replacing the 2d depth finder on the bow), plus a new travel cover, a spare tire carrier, new trailer tires, and a new third wheel. Only "repair" that's been done was replacing the relays for the trim/tilt.

Boat will do around 50mph @ WOT (GPS speed). But this is the speed I prefer :
