I remember a few years back we had 3 grandchildren staying with us Christmas eve. They were filled with excitement and did not want to go to bed.
Grandma told them they needed to be in bed and asleep before Santa would come. Well you know kids try to think of reasons to stay up.
Well I went out to my shop and found a couple of bells. I went just outside the front door and jingled those bells. I came back through the rear door and the kids were wide eyed and talking about hearing the bells.
I said I think that Santa went by checking to see if they were in bed asleep. They were in bed faster than you could snap your fingers......
The other contest brought back this Christmas memory that means a lot to me. I have remember a lot of good Christmas memories because of these contests and I thank you for that. Here is the memory: When I was a little kid around 6 or 7 I had a terrible earache on Christmas morning. I hurt so bad I didn't even care about Christmas. The doctor met us at the office and he put drops in my ear that relieved the pain. He gave my parents the drops and some other medicine to take home. I felt much better but the thing that was so great (besides my parents loving me and being so worried about me) was my parents bought me a chase game that was a getaway car and a police car and they ran through a little town that was setup for the chase. The cars were in slots but to me it was the greatest present and coolest thing ever, especially after crying all morning because the pain was so bad. I played with that car chase game all day and everyday for a long time. My parents were good country people and I miss them. Parents that love you is one of the great Blessings of life.
