    I enjoy giving Crappie filets to some of the older folks in our community. They look forward to it each year and are very thankful.

    My most cherished Christmas memory was Christmas eve 2010. My dad had suffered complications from heart surgery and was confined to the hospital. I have a large family and someone was staying with him 24/7. I volunteered to stay with him Christmas eve and we spent most of the night talking about the years gone by. We talked like we had never talked before. My kids came to visit him in the morning and got to eat Christmas breakfast with him. I wish I could say there was a happy ending but, three weeks later, he passed away. Even though Christmas isn't the same without him, I'm thankful for having been able to spend that night with him.

    Some of my fondest memories of Christmas are actually the days leading up to it. I love to remenise of those afternoons getting off the schoolbus and playing around the tree and watching the Christmas specials every night. It seemed like there was so much time leading up to Christmas Eve. There were always several nights I would help wrap presents. The little things are what stick in my mind.
