Whether you catch 2 or 20 just be happy and enjoy the outdoors! And try to enjoy with someone you love, wife or children.

My advice is be patient! Crappie can be finicky at times, and you will want to experiment and learn different techniques so that you will have a technique for every scenario you encounter on the water. Learning what those techniques are, and mastering them, takes time. So, have patience!
#1 is fishing a brush pile
The best advice I can give a new crappie fisherman, hire a guide , I could go on in great length and detail on all the technics but you would understand more and remember if you go with a guide or find a crappie.com'r near you. Most of us on the site would be willing to take a novice out and share all we know. Whether you hire a guide or go with a crappie.com'r. Ask lots of questions look at the sonar so you will know what you are looking for . Different conditions will dictate the presentation. I love pulling/ pushing cranks. I hate minnows but I have learned to spider rig with minnows early to improve my catch. Dipping , jigging, shooting docks and many other styles. Master one move to the next. If you already know one style tell your guide I want to learn how to ? And as others have said start a library on crappie fishing read , watch videos etc. You don't need all the latest and greatest gear just the basics Some days that's all they want . Good luck and good fishing Gobob out

Find Them Grind Them
try long lining with jigging minnows ....
Mark a waypoint every time you catch a fish. After several you can visually see on ur mapping where the fish school is and where your boat is located in reference to the fish.
