My advice is don't be afraid to try new lures or colors. You don't have to spend a lot of money just buy a few to try out. When the fish aren't biting try a color you haven't caught them on before or a lure you don't usually use. I have saved some fishing trips and caught a limit on lures most people here in Georgia don't use much like tube baits and rigging them different. Also watch the water temp. That tells you where to fish as far as depth and how far the crappie have moved up. Good luck, some of the best days are a fishless day that turns into a memorable day in the last hour of daylight. Count on Luck.

With that said what is Luck? I have heard on many occasions and from many sources that Luck is when opportunity and preparation meet.

Preparation requires the acquisition of knowledge, equipment and conditioning. Read all that you can on Crappie.com also watch videos on YouTube. You will learn about the migratory patterns of Crappie and how they relate to structure throughout the year. You will learn about different pieces of equipment and techniques that you may be interested in. Practice the use of equipment so their use is second nature to you when you need it and not something that you have to think about while you are in the midst of an epic battle with your chosen adversary. Ask questions, tons of questions.

Opportunity means go fishing on your chosen body of water. This will help you learn the underwater topography of your spot. You will learn what works and what doesn’t where you want to fish. You will learn what you like and don’t about your rig set up. You will learn what you really need on your boat and what you could leave at home. You will also meet some pretty great people out on the water or the boat launches.
Then one day while out on the water, everything will click for you. You will catch your limit for the first time or catch your trophy fish that you have dreamt of. When you get back to the dock or ramp someone will usually ask you “Have any LUCK?” Smile real big and say “YES I did!” and in your mind refer back to what I said about Luck at the beginning and how hard you have worked to acquire it.

Read all you can on Crappie.com, keep trying new thing's, fish on the moon phases, fish by your barometric, fish by the weather, learn the area you fish, learn the color's of jig's that work the best in your area, and talk to other fishermen in your area. Do these thing's and you will do fine.

Regardless of what your fishing for have fun and enjoy the company

One of my favorite things about fishing is the time spent with family and friends

I like all kinds of crappie fishing but some of my favorite trips are the one when we were tied off under a bridge and there were other boats under there too and everyone get to talking and cutting up .... sometimes we catch fish sometimes we don't but in my opinion it's time we'll spent

Weather you catch fish or don't if you learn something or make a new friend or just enjoyed the day with your fishing partner the day was well spent
