My mom and dad were out of town, my brother and me built her a water pond right by her front door, when they drove up it was priceless. The plants and fish were just what she needed, she is fighting ever day for life, she is in really bad shape, but i know we made her smile everday she can sit on the porch and just stare at the small pond we bulit.

    Love my family

This Mothers Day I plan to invite all the mothers in our family including their families to our house for a Craw-fish Boil or BBQ. Mom, Mother in law, Daughter in laws (grandchildren mothers) to celebrate and spend time with the best mother of all "My Wife Tina". Nothing could be better and I do this every year to show my appreciation to the mothers in our family.

In 2003 I was deployed to Iraq, I had called home to talk to the wife and she informed me that my mom's washing machine had broken. A few weeks earlier my father had been diagnosed withAlzheimer's and Mom waas having to deal with that, me being in Iraq and a decrease in income from my dad not working. You got to know my Mom, she is a very proud woman and doesn't ask for help from anyone. My wife had told her that she could come over and use our washer until the problem was resolved , but no she carried them to the laundry mat instead. Upon hearing this, I called home to one of the local hardware stores purchased and had them deliver and install a brand new washer while she was at work. Of course when she came home and seen what had happen, my wife said she cried and cried. That same afternoon I called her, Mom got on to me for doing it but I could hear in her voice as she cried the relief and appreciation that she was feeling as she told me I shouldn't have done it. I responded that her and Dad had supported and raised me and it was just a small token compared to what they had given to me over the years.Even though we lost Dad to that dreaded disease I still have my Mom and cherish every minute I can spend and make memories with her. Love my Mom!

Lost my Mom 2 yrs ago in July.I had moved in with her because after my dad died she was living with her brother at her house and he passed so she was all alone! She had never been alone totally before. So I decided that I would put my life on hold and move in with her in Memphis!I lived with her for 4 yrs. before she finally passed away. Who was taking care of who?I would go to work checking on her a couple times during the day and she would say she was fine and when I got home there was a full meal on the table, my laundry was done, and a number of other things she had done to pass the time till I returned. She was taking care of me!She passed at the age of 92 and at first I didn't know what to do. When you care for someone that long it becomes part of you and I was feeling that loss! The one thing I really remember was her saying I sure do wish I had a Martin house! She loved to sit on the patio and watch and listen to the Martins that were over at her next door neighbors bird house. So I got my cousin to take her shopping one day and while she was away, I put up a house for her! It had a extendable pole so you could let it up and down for cleaning each year and she just was beside herself when she had her own Martins living there year after year!It was the least I could do for such a loving and caring mother that always put herself last to care for others!I love and miss you Mom but I know you are up there with Dad and all the others that have passed. I know Heaven is so much fuller with the love that you are spreading there and I will join you some day and will once again be able to feel that Mothers love again!Your memories inside me will never die!Happy Mothers Day!

Mom went to heaven 5 years ago to be with Dad but still have those fond memories of her love for fishing and being outside. I got it from her.
It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
