My mother is an older woman who doesn't get out much except for church. She loves to watch her birds in the front yard every day. She has been in the hospital for over a month battling cancer. She went through a major surgery and doctors say they removed all of her cancer but she is really having a hard time recovering from the procedure. She is the most amazing person I have ever known raising 8 kids with a not so great husband. I just can't wait to be able to spend evenings with her on the porch she has 4 or 5 feeders now and another would be a great addition..

Ok Ed, I read the instructions so here goes.
I can not even start to tell you all the things my mom has done for me and taught me so I could never match up to what she has done for me!
My parents have lost all the contents of their house for both hurricanes Rita and hurricane Ike, they still had the house but the inside looked like a big soup bowl that was stirred with a big spoon and everything was ruined! Well my mother had a glider rocker that she loved that she couldn't find. The neighbor's son found the glider across the pond from their house and brought it back to my mother. She was really excited to get it back! Well after years of watching this thing deteriorate, I decided last year to "fix" it up for mom for her birthday (July 2nd). I wanted to do this as a surprise for my mom and knew it would take a couple of days to get it like I wanted but I couldn't convince mom to leave for more than a day, she won't leave her dogs! Well here are the pictures. The first one is what it looked like after years of wear from the elements and the hurricanes and the second one is a picture of the finished product. OH AND SHE LOVES TO SIT IN HER GLIDER AND WATCH THE BIRDS EAT OUT OF THE WORN OUT FEEDERS SHE HAS OUT!

I have always been able to talk to my Mom about anything. She offers her opinion, but never judges if I disagree. Best woman, mother, wife that I know!

Mothers day always started out allowing mom to sleep till she wanted to get up...In my younger years, that was usually till around 6:30 in the morning. But as I grew, so did the hours mom could sleep in. When she awoke it was to a breakfast of her choice, that my sisters helped me prepare till I was old enough/ experienced enough to do on my own. The remainder of the day it was rest and relax for my mom. Between My three siblings and my self, we made sure that MOTHER'S day was a special day for her. Around Noon Dad always got mom in the car and headed off some Where he had determined he was going to take mom by himself. While they were gone all house work and cooking was done by us kids. It was Mothers Day and she was to do only leisurely things all day. In June of 1993 I lost my mom. She went up to be with angels, where everyday is MOTHERS DAY....

This story begins last year when my Mother fell and broke her hip. My Mother is one who does not ask people for help or anything to be honest. A few women from our church wanted to get her new bed linens so she would have something nice to come home to. Well it skyrocketed from there. The suggestion was made to repaint her bedroom. Then new carpet. Then the hallway needed to be painted. Before we knew it we were doing a total remodel on her house. New carpet throughout, painting inside and out and even a new furnace and air conditioning. We spent six weeks on the project without my Mother knowing what was going on. All materials were either donated or money was donated to fund the project and all the labor was free. I knew that my mother had touched many lives through the years but this just showed me how much she meant to so many people. She has dedicated her life to taking care of children at several churches and these people wanted to show their thanks for all she has done. We all need to remember that mothers are special people. We don't need to take them for granted because they do so much for us through our lives. Tell your mother that you love her and thank her for all she has done for you your entire life.
To make life enjoyable, you must have crappie days.

Size: 68.4 KBI have always been very close to my mother an still am til this day. I could never repay her for the life an the blessing she has bestowed upon me.

One story an thing that I recall is taking her out bluegill fish on a family vacay at lake Seminole one year.

We were staying in a Ga state park cabin an had my boat beach there own the shore. Ever morning we would come out to find a small (4ft) gator laying under the bow. You could just step over him an go about your business. This particular morning the mother an I had beat the rest of the family out an about an she want to go catch some fish to get ahead start on the day. So to stay close we trolled straight out in front of the cabin to a rather large bed of fish an our " pet " gator followed. He lay there wanting an fish that we didn't ( no we didn't fed him). While catching several gills all of a sudden she hung something much larger than a gill but it had managed to entangle her into the thick hydrylla. Excited as I cld be I assisted her in getting the creature free from the grass. An on its way to the boat as she raise the alligator......gar to the boat she truly expressed her feelings for her love of the actual gators that lay around as in her mind that 2 and a half foot gar was a gator. So as quickly as she could she managed to flip that fish right out the other side. Now as I realized what it was an had never boated one myself I fumbled around trying to catch it but that had given it time to cut the line. An as she realized what all was happing the laughter began.

That is one of the many wonderful moments I have spent with my mom. Whether by boat or land I cherish all the moments I have an continue to have with my wonderful mother.
