Default Lakes with crappie fill the night

Jig and Minnows Santa will bring
Minnows and jigs may catch a fish rather then sing
Boat loaded up with bait, off we go to see what bites
Over the hump, thought the cypress stumps
I see a bobber tilting it must be a bite
With Rain deer antlers for rod holders
    A red light to show
just where the bit is going to happen on these cold winter nights.
With a big gust of wind and round house swing
here comes a 5 lber swiming along by fin
now we all know the old saying
Now Sardis Now Grenada come on Reel Foot
Pickwick and Ky lake along with Eufaula,
Logan Martin, Weiss lake along with
    my Richard Willams jigging rods
Its going to be a long night
Snatching crappie out of the lakes
Filleting them and then frying up a mess
Soo to all the good Crappie.com members
cover your head, Snuggle up to the boat
get a good nights sleep or Mr Slab will not bite.

(Sung to the tune of “Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!”)

A Tribute to Smithville Lake, Missouri

    Cold water at Smithville’s callin’
And I’m sick and tired of stallin’
Christmas Crappie wrapped in a bow!

Let us go! Let us go! Let us go!

    The crappie bite was fantastic
On chartreuse and white soft plastic
    There’s a 9 inch length limit, so….
I let ‘em go! Let ‘em go! Let ‘em go!

    Now the crappie.com folks say
That there’s limits of fish to be caught
Where are all those big fish today?
In my livewell, you’ll see I’ve got naught!

    The bite is slowly dying
And I’ve got no fish for frying
So back in the lake they go
To let ‘em grow! Let ‘em grow! Let ‘em grow!

You better watch out for Crappie.com
You better not cry for bigger fish
Better not pout for losing the big one
I'm telling you why you need to be good
    Slab is coming to town

He's making a list for crappie jigs
And checking it twice for hooks, lines and reels
He’s Gonna find out Who's putting out trees
    Slab is coming to town

He sees you when you're fishing
He knows when you're catching the limit
He knows if you've been truthful or not
So don’t lie for goodness sake!

An Ode to Wiskers, a CDC Kentucky Lake Legend! (to the tune of Frosty the Snowman)

Wiskers the fisherman, you're a happy jolly soul
with a decked out boat, and a ZEBCO reel, and a BnM fishin pole.

Wiskers the fisherman, can spin a tall tale they say
He knows where to fish, and the Crappie know he'll be catchin them some day.

There must have been some magic in that ZEBCO reel he used
For when he placed it on the pole, all his buddies were amused

Oh Wiskers the fisherman was as skilled as he could be
and his friends all say, he can laugh and play, and catch more than you or me

Thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump
    Feel them big slabs bite
Thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump
    Wiskers is eatin filets tonight!

Merry Christmas everyone! Have a safe and happy New Year!!!
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day!

    T’was The Night Before Fishing
    By
    Michael C. Carter
    “Shipahoy 41”
    December 7, 2011

    Twas the night before fishing
    And I couldn’t sleep
    Crappies were biting
    And brush piles were deep
    My rods were all stacked
In the boat with great care
As the smell of fresh water
    Drifted up in the air

    The wife was all snuggled
    Upstairs in her bed
    I tiptoed out slowly
And not a word was said
I grabbed me some frog togs
    And a skull cap too
    And prepared to go fish
With just me and just you

    Then out in the boat
    There was a big noise
    I jumped from my chair
    To see my three boys
They were jumping up and down
On the brand new boat seat
    Looking up in the sky
    Seeing Santa was neat!

    A little old man
    Real fast and real quick
    Had brand new rods
    Said “Just take your pick”
    He had to turn fast
    He was running late
    He’d been fishing too
And they all took his bait

    He had a red suit
    He was chubby and fat
    Jingle bells were ringing
And he almost dropped his hat
    His eyes they did twinkle
He had a nose like a cherry
    One thing I noticed
    His hands were real hairy

    He didn’t speak again
    But finished his work
    Then grabbed his sleigh ropes
    And gave them a jerk
    “Now Dasher, Now Dancer
    And you Rudolph too
    Get a move on
We got more work to do”

    We looked in the sky
    We watched him leave
    Stars under his sleigh
    On this Christmas Eve
    We jumped in the boat
Just the boys and their dad
This was the best Christmas Eve
    That they really ever had

I heard him exclaim as he roared out of sight
Crappie.com is the worlds best fishing website santa

    Default a christmas poem

if it was not for Crappie.com i would not have the honor to share this poem it was sent to me via Email from a former moderator and a friend for sure!!!i wish ya'll all a Merry Christmas!!!
    Christmas Poem
    TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
    HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF
    PLASTER AND STONE.

I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
    WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
    AND TO SEE JUST WHO
    IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.

    I LOOKED ALL ABOUT,
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
    NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
    NOT EVEN A TREE.

    NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,
    JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
    ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
    OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.

    WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
    AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,
    A SOBER THOUGHT
    CAME THROUGH MY MIND.

    FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,
    IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,
I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER,
    ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.

    THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING,
    SILENT, ALONE,
    CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR
    IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.

    THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE,
    THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER,
    NOT HOW I PICTURED
    A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.

    WAS THIS THE HERO
    OF WHOM I'D JUST READ?
    CURLED UP ON A PONCHO,
    THE FLOOR FOR A BED?

    I REALIZED THE FAMILIES
    THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS
    WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.

    SOON ROUND THE WORLD,
    THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,
    AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE
    A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.

    THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM
    EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR,
    BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS,
    LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.

    I COULDN'T HELP WONDER
    HOW MANY LAY ALONE,
    ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE
IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.

    THE VERY THOUGHT
BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE,
    I DROPPED TO MY KNEES
    AND STARTED TO CRY.

    THE SOLDIER AWAKENED
AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE,
    'SANTA DON'T CRY,
    THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE;

    I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM,
    I DON'T ASK FOR MORE,
    MY LIFE IS MY GOD,
    MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS.'

    THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER
    AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP,
    I COULDN'T CONTROL IT,
    I CONTINUED TO WEEP.

    I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS,
    SO SILENT AND STILL
    AND WE BOTH SHIVERED
    FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL.

    I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE
    ON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT,
    THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR
    SO WILLING TO FIGHT.

    THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER,
WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE,
    WHISPERED, 'CARRY ON SANTA,
IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE.'

    ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH,
AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT.
    'MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND,!
AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.'

This poem was written by a Marine. The following is his request. I think it is reasonable.....

PLEASE. Would you do me the kind favor of sending this to as many people as you can? Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our U.S. service men, women, and Canadian Forces for our being able to celebrate these festivities.
Let's try in this small way to pay a tiny bit of what we
owe. Make people stop and think of our heroes, living and dead, who sacrificed themselves for us. Please, do your small part to plant this small seed

    RANDY THE BLACK NOSED CRAPPIE
(sung to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer)
written by Michael C. Carter - Shipahoy 41

    Randy the Black Nosed Crappie
    Had a big recessive gene
And if you ever saw it
You might even say things mean

    All of the other crappies
    Swam around Kentucky Lake
    They never let poor Randy
Go into the nest they make

    Then one foggy Christmas Eve
    Ed Moes came to say
    "Randy in Kentucky Lake
    Read Crappie dot com today"

Now all the crappie love him
And listen to his great advice
    Randy the Black Nose Crappie
You will never catch him twice

Now all the crappie love him
'Cause he knows what we do too
    Randy the Black Nose Crappie
Is Hiding out from "G" and you.

    Merry Christmas from Randy!
