i think maybe a mth tournament because you got guys that can only do it on the weekends also..
Pbug2009 and various other members have suggested we have an online fishing tournament, and we're going to try it. Here's a link to the initial conversation:

So to start, we need some rules.
We will use a control item, of course to be announced at the start of the contest.
We will make it length only, not a weight contest. Only because length would be easiest to administer and participate in. And no lead weights in the mouth tricks.
Another is that we really have to count on the honor system. It's not going to be impossible to cheat, so please don't. Anything suspected of being photo shopped will be disqualified.
more please.....
And personally I think we keep the tournament time frame relatively short, like two weeks, and that's it.

When the tournament starts you post a code that must be printed off and layed above the fish with a very visible ruler/yardstick/ tape measure below the fish. No tail pinches or lip extensions. Just lay the fish flat with the code and measuring device clearly visible. This is how it is done on a site that is strictly for on line tournaments and it works well. The code that is not posted until the day the tournament prevents any fish being used that were caught prior to that day. Then allow no picture entries after midnight of the last day. All picutre entries must have the measuring device and the code or they don't count. The fish does not even have to be starting at the 1 inch mark on the measuring device as you will be able to see just how long it is because the ruler has to be clearly visible. Oh, and the measuring device should have 1/8 inches visible, making it easy to prevent a tie. Just an idea that seems to work well for the other site.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D
Here is a sample.

Of course, the other site has high tech equipment to detect any tampering with the photos. But we all seem like a pretty fair bunch of folks around here so I don't imagine any trickery would be an issue. Sounds like fun to me so count me in for the tournament, and , if everyone who enters takes a good picture of themselves with their big fish, I will draw a custom portrait of the winner to donate as a prize.

I like the idea of the code added to the pic but with my eyesight we need to use a yard stick to see the numbers. I look forward for the tournaments.

What about things like...
- All crappie must be caught on rod and reel?
- Limit on the number of fish measured?
- Is this going to be an individual effort or are teams allowed?
- If teams are allowed, do they compete against individuals?
- Do those fishing from the bank, and those from boats, compete equally?
I'm sure theres more. I'm in!!

from what i inderstand on the others that i have seen it is indiviual no team efforts apply here
usually it is one fish per day. i mean if not you could be looking through 25 fish posted by one person per day that could be a pile of fish if everyone did it .
and yes everyone competes together .
and yes to rod and reel .
now like i said all of these things are from another web site so i'm sure we could twist them and modify to suit our needs but it's best to keep them simple and then there is noone saying that they thought .........
but these are just from me to you . have fun with this they are fun . i will not compete as we are still under ice here and i have not had a single crappie through the ice yet .guess i can't find em . but fish on lol.

what we are going to do is a 5 fish limit....So slab has to deal with 5 pics per contestant not 100 pics...So what you do is keep the pictures of your 5 biggest fish and send them to him towards the end.
