• Afternoon Talquin trip

Just got my new unit on the boat and was ready to try it out. So I headed down after lunch. On the water around 2 off the water by 5 with a nice limit. Here are some pictures:

The lake is muddy, but fish are still biting great. A lot of boat traffic kept the water stirred up and rods bouncing. Though, in between waves you would always get bit. I remember why I never fish the lakes on the weekends this time of year. Ski boats are already out and they brought there jet ski friends too!

Fish are still biting in creek mouths, back to pads. I found mine in 15 foot water down at least 10 foot longline trolling double 1/16ths with the get you some color on plain lead heads. Those fish love bubblegum.

Thinking of stopping by Talquin on the way home to Venice, Fl. I spent a week camping on Georgia's Clark's Hill Lake Thurmond and couldn't catch a crappie to save my life. Temps at night were 28F so we hit a real cold front. Maybe better luck if we make it to Talquin in a few days.
